Shapes Song for Kids: Shapes Are Everywhere Is Coming Soon
Lumi and Tuki find a little hill with a perfectly round door in it. When it swings open, shapes float out everywhere, and Lumi needs a helper to find every circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star and heart in LumiLand.
This is the episode where…

- Ray counts the four sides and four corners of a square
- Bobo wears a triangle party hat that slides over his eyes, and he bumps into a block
- Nina counts the five points of a star, and Mimi finds a flower with heart-shaped petals
- Bobo tries to push a square into the round hole of a shape sorter
- the shapes click together to build a house, a train, a rocket and a robot
Shapes Are Everywhere! is a shapes song and shape hunt for toddlers and preschoolers, and it's coming soon to LumiLand. It teaches toddlers and preschoolers six shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star and heart) and how to count their sides, corners and points. Lumi, Ray and Nina lead the way, with Mimi, Tuki and Bobo joining in.
The story
It starts in the meadow, where Lumi and Tuki spot a door in a little hill. It's not a square door. "Circle! Circle!" says Tuki. When it opens, shapes float out, and the friends realise shapes are hiding all over LumiLand.
Each shape gets its own turn and its own song. Circles are round with no corners, like a ball, the sun and a wheel. Ray counts the four sides of a square. A triangle has three sides and three corners, and Bobo's triangle party hat keeps slipping over his eyes. The rectangle has two long sides and two short sides, just like the LumiBus. Then Nina counts the five points of a star, and Mimi finds a heart: "A heart reminds me of kindness."
The main song keeps coming back, and it's easy to sing along: "Shapes are everywhere for me and you".
Hands-on fun
There's lots to do, not just watch. Little ones draw each shape in the air, slowly, with their finger like a crayon. They help Bobo work out which hole the square goes in on his shape sorter. They move like shapes in a parade and pick the right shape in a quick shape hunt. At the end, squares, triangles, circles and rectangles click together to make a house, a train, a rocket and a robot.
While you wait
Shapes are easy to spot at home once you start looking. Our shapes page has more games, when do toddlers learn shapes? explains what's typical, and free shape tracing pages are ready for older preschoolers.
Shapes Are Everywhere! is coming soon. Until then, how many circles can you find today?

Air drawing
Use a finger like a crayon and draw a big circle in the air together. Then try a square: one, two, three, four sides.
Shape hands
Make shapes with your hands: a triangle with fingers and thumbs, and a heart by curling them together. Ask, 'What shape did I make?'
