How to use these pages

  1. Trace the dotted shape with a finger first, then with a chunky crayon.
  2. Say it out loud together.
  3. Colour the shape, then go on a shape hunt around the house.
  4. Stick it on the fridge and celebrate!

Tips for grown-ups

  • Start with the circle, then the square and the triangle.
  • Trace the shape in the air with a finger before using a crayon.
  • A chunky crayon is easier for small hands than a thin pencil.
  • After tracing, go and find one thing in the room with the same shape.

Toddlers are still building hand strength, so scribbles near the line are a great start. Keep it playful and stop while it's still fun. More ideas: Shapes songs and games.
