Number Song 1 to 10: Count With Lumi Is Coming Soon
Ten glowing stars hang over the meadow, until Bobo gives one a big hug and the sky only has nine. To get the star back, Lumi and friends count everything in LumiLand, from one sunny sun all the way to ten little fish.
This is the episode where…
- Bobo hugs a star right out of the sky, and only nine are left
- Ray hops in wearing just one shoe and needs help finding the other
- Bobo tries to juggle three balls, and the third one lands bonk on his head
- Nina sparkles five stars into the sky for everyone to point at and count
- Bobo counts 'one, two, three… seven!' and needs a little help
- the number song is sung at normal speed, then super fast
Count With Lumi! 1–10 is a counting adventure for toddlers and preschoolers, and it's coming soon to LumiLand. It teaches toddlers and preschoolers to count from 1 to 10, one thing at a time, and to show each number on their fingers. Lumi leads, Ray brings the energy, and Bobo brings the funny mistakes.
The story
The episode starts at twilight in the meadow, under ten glowing stars. Bobo can't resist giving one a hug, and suddenly there are only nine. "Wait… how many stars are there now?" Bobo gives the star back, and the friends decide to count everything in LumiLand.
Each number gets its own moment and its own little song. There's one bright sun and two shoes (Ray has lost one, so your child can help find it). Then come three balls for Bobo to juggle, four ducks waddling past and five stars from Nina. After that, six flowers, seven blocks, eight bubbles from Tuki, nine balloons and ten fish in the pond.
How the counting works
For each number, the friends count slowly, then quickly, and ask your child to show that many fingers. Sometimes one thing disappears with a soft pop, so little ones can spot that there's one less, before it pops back. Bobo also miscounts, jumping from three straight to "seven", and your child gets to help him count properly.
The main song is easy to join in with: "One, two, three, count along with me". At the end, the friends sing it again, this time super fast, while all ten stars go back into the sky.
While you wait
Counting is easy to practise at home with fingers, stairs and snacks. Our counting songs and games page has more ideas, and how to teach a toddler to count to 10 explains the difference between saying the numbers and really counting things. There are also free number tracing pages for older preschoolers.
Count With Lumi! is coming soon. Until then, how many fingers can your little one show you?
