Goodnight Song for Toddlers: Goodnight, LumiLand Is Coming Soon
Lumi yawns. Tuki yawns. Bobo yawns so big his scarf flutters. As the sun sets, Nina floats in through the window to help everyone get ready for sleep, one slow, cosy step at a time.
This is the episode where…
- a yawn passes from friend to friend until everyone is yawning
- Nina floats in through the bedroom window with a soft glow
- Bobo chooses pyjamas covered in little honey pots
- Nina reads the story of a sleepy little star who didn't want to go to bed
- the friends breathe slowly: smell the flower, blow the cloud
- Nina says goodnight to the farm, the pond, the LumiBus and each friend
Goodnight, LumiLand is a gentle bedtime episode for toddlers and preschoolers, and it's coming soon. It teaches toddlers and preschoolers the steps of a bedtime routine (toys away, pyjamas, brushing teeth and a story), a slow-breathing game and counting softly from one to five. This time Nina, the calm, glowing star, leads the way, with Lumi, Bobo, Mimi, Tuki and Ray getting ready for bed alongside your child.
The story
It's evening in Lumi's bedroom, and the window glows orange as the sun goes down. Lumi yawns, and soon everyone is yawning, one after another. Then Nina floats in through the window: "It's getting late, little friends." Together they go through a bedtime routine, slowly and softly.
First the toys go to bed, though Bobo keeps his teddy to cuddle. Next comes the pyjama choice: stars or clouds? Bobo picks honey pots. After that, a quiet tooth-brushing song in the soft glow of a night light. Then everyone snuggles up for Nina's story about a little star who wanted to play all night, and learned that resting helps it shine brighter tomorrow.
Calm by design
The music in this episode is slow and soft, with no sudden sounds, and the colours are warm and dim. Nina guides a simple breathing game: smell the flower (breathe in), blow the cloud (breathe out). By then, Bobo is already snoring softly. Then the friends drift over sleeping LumiLand, saying goodnight to the farm, the pond and the LumiBus, and to each friend in turn. The bedtime song returns at the end, with a line you may find yourself humming later: "Close your eyes, breathe slow and deep".
While you wait
You don't need a screen for most of this routine. The breathing game and the goodnight roll call work beautifully in the dark at bedtime. You might watch the episode earlier in the evening, then carry its steps into the bedroom. For more on songs in your family's day, see our daily song routine for toddler learning at home. Goodnight, LumiLand is coming soon. Until then, sweet dreams!

Get ready before the premiere
Warm-up games to play together this week, no screen needed.
Smell the flower, blow the cloud
Pretend to smell a flower as you breathe in slowly, then blow a little cloud away as you breathe out. Try it three times together.
Goodnight roll call
At bedtime, say goodnight to the toys, the window and everyone in the house, one at a time, in a soft voice.
Stars or clouds?
Offer a small choice at pyjama time, like 'this one or that one?', so your child gets to pick, just like the friends do.
