Clean Up Time!: a sneak peek with Lumi, Ray, Bobo, Mimi, Tuki, NinaComing soon

The playroom is one enormous mess: blocks everywhere, books on the floor, cars under the sofa. Then the pile of stuffed animals wiggles, and out pops Bobo with a teddy on his head. Every toy has a home, and Lumi needs a helper to put them all back.

This is the episode where…

  • Bobo pops out of a pile of stuffed animals wearing a teddy on his head
  • the friends sort blocks into red, blue, yellow and green bins
  • Bobo hugs every stuffed animal instead of putting it away, then climbs into the basket himself
  • Ray races toy cars into the garage box, and Tuki rescues one from under the sofa
  • Bobo wears all five dress-up hats at once, stacked like a tower
  • the friends try to finish tidying before the song ends

Starring: Lumi · Ray · Bobo · Mimi · Tuki · Nina

Clean Up Time! is an original tidy-up song for toddlers and preschoolers, and it's coming soon to LumiLand. It teaches toddlers and preschoolers that every toy has a home, with blocks sorted by colour and toys counted as they go away. Lumi leads, Ray, Mimi and Tuki pitch in, and Bobo is more help with hugs than with tidying.

The story

The camera pans across the playroom, and it's a huge mess. Blocks cover the rug, books are on the floor and cars have rolled under the sofa. Lumi gasps. Then a pile of stuffed animals starts to wiggle, and Bobo pops out with a teddy on his head: "Hello!" The friends agree that every toy has a home, and they set to work together.

Each kind of toy gets its own little song. Blocks go into bins that match their colour, so there's a chance to name red, blue, yellow and green. The stuffed animals go into the big basket, but Bobo hugs each one goodnight first. Then he climbs into the basket too, and Mimi has to remind him that he isn't a toy. Mimi stands the books on the shelf, Ray races the cars into their box, and Nina helps count the crayons back into their cup.

Turning tidying into a game

There's a "where does it go?" game, with a pause after each toy so your child can pick its home. There's a speedy round where the friends try to beat the song. At the end, a before-and-after view shows how much they did together. The main chorus is simple to sing while you tidy: "Every toy knows where it goes!"

While you wait

A clean-up song can be a small, friendly signal that playtime is ending. For ideas on fitting songs into your day, see our daily song routine for toddler learning at home. If your child enjoys the colour sorting, our colour games page has more.
